Moving to WordPress
Well, this site has been dead for a long time. Simon said some time ago that if I fancied taking it over that would be cool, but having glanced in to the internals of the ‘blogging’ software I didn’t much fancy making posts that required a round trip through phpMyAdmin every time.
So, finally, I’ve got around to installing WordPress and seeing whether it can be integrated with the rest of the site (that I made some personal investment in and don’t want to dump just yet). Seems it can, with a few dodgy hacks and a couple of rough edges the blog bit now sits quite nicely with the rest of the site. Some old content will need to be imported and there is still more to do – perhaps moving the entire site to WordPress at some point, but for the time being I think it will do.
And yes, this really exciting post is just for testing the software
