Got a printer? Help test Konqueror
Gérard Talbot has been working for the past eight months, checking Konqueror’s conformance to CSS 2.1 (resulting in the impressive conformance tables on his website).
However, he needs help to determine the results of 13 remaining tests that need a colour printer, something Gérard does not have access to.
If you have a moment, please check out one (or more!) of the following testcases in Konqueror 4.6.5 or 4.6.4 (it’s important that you are using that latest versions). Then report your results in the thread on the KDE Forum.
You might also want to check the thread first to see which tests still need checking.
9 testcases requiring a color printer:

- http://test.csswg.org/suites/css2.1/20110323/html4/page-break-margins-004.htm

- http://test.csswg.org/suites/css2.1/20110323/html4/page-container-009.htm
- http://test.csswg.org/suites/css2.1/20110323/html4/page-margin-000.htm
- http://test.csswg.org/suites/css2.1/20110323/html4/page-margin-001.htm
- http://test.csswg.org/suites/css2.1/20110323/html4/page-margin-002.htm
2 testcases where Konqueror hangs or refuses to print, but Gérard needs someone to confirm this behaviour:
- http://test.csswg.org/suites/css2.1/20110323/html4/table-header-group-004.htm
2 testcases UNKNOWN – several characters are not displayed, but this is possibly due to font availability; Gérard needs someone else to confirm and verify this:
- http://test.csswg.org/suites/css2.1/20110323/html4/text-transform-bicameral-012.htm
Gérard has been working on this for 8 months. Please take a few minutes to help him get it finished.
By Konqueror you mean KHTML, right?

Markus S.,
You have an excellent question here. Yes. By Konqueror, I mean KHTML. KHTML is the engine I have been checking.
Some people believe they can use the webkit engine but that is not the case.

Whoa, didn’t know that KHTML people feel the need to lie about the existence of the WebKit renderer for Konqueror. Pathetic.
Konqueror with WebKit passes the first test, KHTML does not. ’nuff said.
Markus: I think he just meant that concerning the test cases, not in general. Of course people shouldn’t use the WebKit engine to report back the tests, as he is testing KHTML…
Is printing to PDF not sufficient?
Yeah, i did wonder that… I supposed there is a possibility you introduce some differences in generating the PDF too (though taking a look now, most tests are so simple that minor differences are not going to affect the result)
@ Markus: Yep, KHTML only, I assume.
I’m really just passing on a message here, so these questions are probably better in the forum thread.
Of course, the final four tests are need verification from others anyway…
People,
I have now received feedback and results in this KDE Community Forum thread:

Thank you to those who answered here. And thank you Stuart Jarvis. I really appreciate your community support on this quest/query.
salutations amicales de Montréal,

Wow, impressive work! Could it have fixed this bug too?

Thank you anyway!
